It's Been a While
Hey everyone! Sorry I haven't kept you posted, I've had a lot on my mind. Along with the substantial workload we've been getting at school, we've also had a lot of activities and trips scheduled. Still, I can't keep making these excuses. From now on, I blog! I've been up to quite a bit these few months. Besides deciding I want to write my own novel, I've also written a few articles and short stories I'm going to send to newspapers. Just writing this makes me smile. I can't wait to have my own book. Or even to type my name into google and have something pop up. How I look forward to the day I'll settle down in my couch, with a cup of tea, my cat and read my own novel! So far my novel is a collection of six short stories. I've written a bunch and selected my favorites. But enough of that. Writing about something I've written, I mean. Until I have the opportiunity to settle down with my own book, I'll continue settling down with someone else's. Currently, that's The Kite Runner by Khaled Hosseini. And it's calling me from the other room as I speak. You can imagine how rude it would be to ignore such a call, so again I must say my goodbyes. See you next week!

Don't You Just Hate Days Like These
You know when you wake up with a smile on your face and dress up real nice, for no reason at all, hop in a car and drive to the closest mall, again, for no reason at all? It's exactly what I did this morning before I got a blinding pain in my head, making it impossible for me to even manage a blink. So all plans cancelled and exchanged for sleep, I guess. Only problem is, after sleeping so long today, I really don't know how I'm going to manage the tinniest doze tonight. You know what I'm talking about. The unexplicably sunny day, all your friends are in town, you're looking all good, had a blast last night...and then it's all too good to be true. You turn all pale, the sky fogs and clouds with black, ugly, bulging clouds, your friends already have plans and all the soda pop and expired candy you ate last night is finally having it's affect. It could've been a perfect day, only there's a fine line between perfect and disasterous. It seems it just isn't meant to be today, huh?

It's Gotta Begin Sometime
I guess this would be considered the first official post. Before I continue, I must boast about something. I HAVE MY OWN URL! I spent about an hour today typing in my URL over and over. I guess I was just proving a point. But now that that is said, I guess I have to go on about what I'm going to be saying in his post. I'm sitting here, thinking about this as I speak (or, more precisely, as I type). Finally, though, I've decided to start my blog with a poem I wrote when I was about six or seven.
Kiwi Fruit
Furry and green
Squishy, soft, springy
Yummy, juicy
It reminds me of a hedgehog
Some of you might be wondering why I'm starting my blog with yes, a cute poem, but not exactly what people would call genius. Like, I highly doubt some hot-shot publisher or college is going to give me a call to congratulate me on this poem. So, why? Because I'm proving my point, for the second time in today's blog. What point, some of you may ask. My point is that at the age of six or seven, I started writing. And I've been writing ever since. That's what I wanted to be, that's what I've always wanted to be. And that's what this blog is helping me become. 'Cause you can't be a writer if you haven't got any readers, right? Otherwise you're only writing for your own ears to hear. So I guess the reason I'm really starting this blog is because my ears are finally tired of being the only one's forced to endure my stories.

About This Blog
I guess I have to start with what my name is and why I wanted to start this blog, so here it is. My name is Fabi Vilsan. A couple years back my friends came up with the nickname of Fabs, which I hate, but go by anyway. With revenge in mind, I took the liberty of creating some of my own nicknames for them. You might be thinking that I started this blog to tell readers about the way I back-packed across Europe in order to save a damsel in distress or the way I single-handedly rescued a bunch of turists from an avalanche. But I haven't done any of that. In fact, I've had a regular life so far. Define regular? A family that loves me, friends that care, a school to go to in the morning, a house to come back to during the day. So, why? Why have I gone to the trouble of starting my own blog? This is why. I want to share my life with others, share my writing, my experiences, my suggestions. Besides, many people can relate to what I write. So the reason I'm starting this blog isn't because I've got an amazing life story spent in a jungle of some sort, fighting creatures that were thought to be extinct. No, I'm starting this blog because I want to connect with people around the world and share my experiences with them, which, granted, might not be as enthralling as those of an explorer or researcher, but I'll give it a shot anyway.
